Looking for an Engineering Apprenticeship

The Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Apprentice will be working within the MGS production facility and will play a key part in ensuring the successful maintenance of the moulding tools and factory equipment in a health and safety driven environment.  

Job Role

Key Performance Areas: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform or working towards developing each essential duty to company specification. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and abilities required.  

 Regularly and actively attend training sessions as set by the training provider 

  • To work closely with the allocated provider assessor and complete training modules as and when set. 
  • To assist in carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance to machines and related equipment, as required. 
  • To have perseverance in completing routine work and follow an established work pattern. 
  • Assisting with the wiring, testing and maintenance of any electrical equipment.  
  • To work closely with supervisor and report any issues or requirements. 
  • To keep up to date records of work carried out. 
  • To maintain housekeeping standards within area of work. 
  • Assist with 5S, Lean and continuous improvement exercises within the Company. 
  • Carry out any other duties as required by the company. 
  • To comply with rules as set out in the company handbook including all policies and procedures. 
  • Operational Performance Requirements:  
  • Structure and provide regular feedback through reporting for all areas of responsibility to ensure continuous efficient operation within the organisation.  

Required Skills and Personal Qualities 

  • Ability to follow instructions, procedures and processes. 
  • Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise. 
  • Good reporting skills both written and verbal.  
  • Ability to problem solve and fault-find. 
  • Able to plan and manage own workload 
  • Able to work as part of a team and support colleagues 
  • Willing to take ownership of own personal development and undertake any training relevant to the Companies needs and be keen to learn. 

Working Schedule 

39 per week – 8.00am to 5pm Monday -Thursday Friday 8am-2.30pm 

Once day college release

Qualifications Required

GCSE Maths grade 5 English Grade 4 Science 4

Complete College entrance aptitude assessment

This Apprenticeship is a Level 2 Apprenticeship.
