About the Role: Nessie's Little Monsters is excited to welcome a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Level 2 Apprentice Practitioner. This role is integral to our nursery setting, offering an excellent opportunity for those eager to start a rewarding career in early years education. As an apprentice, you will work closely with experienced staff to develop your skills and knowledge, contributing to the nurturing and educational environment we provide for our little monsters.
Department: This apprenticeship position, focusing on the early years age group. You will be working in a log cabin that caters to infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers, ensuring you gain comprehensive experience across different developmental stages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Childcare and Development:
- Assist in planning and implementing a stimulating and varied program of play and learning activities.
- Support children's individual needs and interests, promoting their emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
- Ensure a high standard of care and safety, following all nursery policies and procedures.
- Daily Routine Management:
- Help with daily routines such as feeding, changing, and nap times.
- Supervise and engage with children during free play, structured activities, and outdoor play.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within the nursery environment.
- Observation and Record-Keeping:
- Observe and assess children's development, recording your findings accurately and sharing them with senior staff.
- Contribute to the preparation and updating of children’s individual learning plans.
- Communication:
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Provide regular feedback to parents about their child's progress and any concerns.
- Professional Development:
- Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving the nursery environment and practices.
Daily Interactions: As a Level 2 Apprentice Practitioner, you will engage with:
- Children: Directly interacting with children daily, ensuring their needs are met, and fostering a supportive and enriching environment.
- Staff Members: Collaborating with two primary staff members, including your designated mentor and the room leader, to ensure cohesive and consistent care and education for the children.

Qualifications
- Must pass an initial assessment at Blackburn College
