Overview
The HNC in Modern Methods of Construction (HTQ status) is for anyone looking to develop their understanding of their specialist technical knowledge in Construction, enhance their understanding of modern construction practice, procurement and digital applications.
Our Modern Methods of Construction for England courses will develop your professional skillset and meet the expectations of an increasing need for high quality professional and technical education pathways at Levels 4 and 5, equipping students with the right skills and competencies for the workplace.
These qualifications have been developed by awarding bodies, who have worked with employers and businesses to make sure that students get the specific training, knowledge, and skills they need for their chosen career.
Students will gain practical skills gained through workplace scenarios, alongside independent study and directed study.

- The construction environment, considering all environmental factors with a focus on sustainability aspects
- Principles of off-site manufacture
- Construction Technology
- Impact on cost control and the environment and address the housing shortages

Entry Requirements
We strongly recommend:
- BTEC Level 3 qualification in Construction or other related subject
- T Level or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum grade of C or Grade 4 in Maths and English.
- An Access to HE in a relevant subject.
Non standard entry applicants should demonstrate:
You’ll need to attend an interview to determine their suitability and capability. Mature applicants (aged 21 or over) who are able to demonstrate relevant skills or knowledge gained in employment or vocational activity will be considered and may be invited to interview.

How will I be assessed?
Your work will be continually assessed throughout the year with written coursework, practical assessments, projects, presentations, site visits and presentations, portfolios and work based assessments.

What can I do next?
- Enter a career in construction or a related field. This could include Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Association of Project Management (APM) among many others.
- Continue your current employment having upskilled
- Achieve excellence in the provision of level 4 and 5 courses to provide you with a technical and professional skills base for a successful career and progression with a number of construction institutions
- Progress to a Level 5 qualification
