Overview
This qualification is designed for learners looking to start work in, or already working in health and social care, who would like an understanding of common health conditions and their effects on individuals.
You will develop the knowledge and understanding of:
- various common health conditions
- monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions
You will be prepared for further training and to support a role in the
workplace where the individual may work or interact with those
experiencing different health conditions. -
What will I study?
You will study a range of units including:
- Understand how to contribute to monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions
- Understand cardiovascular disease
- Understand respiratory disease
- Understanding mental health
- Understand the context of supporting individuals with learning disabilities

Entry Requirements
You will need 4 GCSE’s at Grade 4 including English language or Maths (resit in one of these, but must be a grade 3 achieved). Science at grade 3.
During the Level 2 course, you will be required to study for your Maths and/or English Language GSCE resit as part of your study programme.
A successful DBS is also required.

After successful completion of this course you can progress to the T-Level Health dependant on achieving entry requirements.
This is the preferred choice of many students as they wish to ultimately progress to university courses. You may choose to gain employment in care settings. Roles may be within a care home, day centre, dementia unit or in the community, all working with adults.
