Art and Design Shows: A brushstroke of brilliance
The past two weeks have seen the grand openings of our HE and FE Art & Design shows, both events were a huge success as the student’s year-long projects paid off.
The Higher Educations exhibition was particularly noteworthy because it was the last one to be held in the beautiful Victoria Building, The Grade II structure will be closing for the first time since 1888. The theme of the show was fittingly ‘Eras’, as this academic calendar year also marked the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Although the students paid tribute to these huge events, they also reminded us that ‘Eras’ marked new beginnings with some modern and innovative projects.
This Wednesday's Future Education Students exhibition celebrated the work of our younger students, many of whom will be attending university next month, and the evening had all the trademarks of a celebration with the work on display being complimented by a jazz player, canopies’, ice lollies and a popcorn maker.
The exhibition is still open for viewing and is located on the top two floors of the Beacon Centre.
