Madame Tussauds Hosts Overnight Stay for Early Year Students
Blackburn College students rubbed shoulders with some Hollywood stars as they took part in a sponsored sleepover at Madame Tussaud’s to support a local charity - Rise and Shine.
Our Early Years students have been on a roll lately. They’ve been doing outstanding work in raising money for the Rise and Shine charity. Staff and students did a unique overnight sponsored sleepover at Madame Tussauds in Blackpool, the world-renowned waxwork museum.
For some, this was their first experience of visiting the attraction and they all took an active role in the planning of the sponsored event whilst having a blast doing it.
One of the tutors said “The lack of sleep was worth it for all the laughs! the support, generosity exhibited, learning things about one other, and, most importantly, the smiles on the students' faces knowing that for so many of them, it was the best thing they had ever done!”
The Rise and Shine Charity which was founded in 2019, believes strongly in the values of communication and supporting your peers, and it seems as if the students took inspiration from that themselves, and which is why their Night at Madame Tussauds was such a massive success.
