10 students gain jobs after successful Policing initiative
Blackburn College have celebrated the culmination of a successful Leadership in Policing programme with Lancashire Constabulary, marking the success with a celebratory awards evening.
Ten students have even found jobs with the Police following the programme.
Designed to support recruitment within the Lancashire Constabulary and provide students with employability and leadership skills suitable for a career within the Police, the 24 week programme worked with 26 individuals and in particular those of Black, Asian and minority ethnic heritage.
Funded by the Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw, the scheme allowed students to regularly visit Lancashire Constabulary departments and focus on developing mental toughness; identifying and managing vulnerability; managing risk; and understanding the organisational culture and context of working within the Police.
